A picture of me at the top as I dressed for the late night observations, when temperatures were around –40°C/F. During the day, when it was warmer, usually around –23°C (–10°F), I would wear a windbreaker in place of the big parka (I would have a fleece jacket on under either), and I could uncover my face if it wasn't too windy.
