Sunrise from Eagle Plains at 1:30 am. The sun had set for about half an hour. Eagle Plains, run by the government, is a travel facility, offering a hotel, restaurant, bar, gas and service station. Located at km 364 (mile 226), just south of the Arctic Circle, it is in an isolated location, where the employees live in the hotel since there is no town there. We set up camp behind the buildings. 6 July 1999.
